Question

What is 5 GT/s DMI bus speed of the processor?

Feb 1, 2018 5:20AM PST

What is 5 GT/s DMI bus speed of the processor? Now I don't ask what a "bus" is, I am asking what this number and words are "5 GT/s DMI". Also if a processor has a higher bus speed supported than the motherboard will it be incompatible? Because I've read in this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3420041/cpu-mo...
that higher speed of the processor will be incompatible with the motherboard (which is kind of strange because most of the processors nowadays have much higher speed than the bus speed supported by the motherboards.

It refers to how fast the cpu can move data around the machine.

Round numbers 2GB/s.

As for incompatible refer to the mobo cpu support list.
