What if?

by Dango517 / September 23, 2007 10:23 PM PDT

What would happen if the Hardware companies started making there own software to run there computers? Separating the applications from the hardware side of OSs? This would have a very profound effect on how things are on the net. I think it would open up the entire internet allowing many companies to participate. If just one hardware manufacturer successfully did this and the rest would follow. What effect do you think this would have on Googles ability to enter the Software business? What effect would this have on Microsoft? How about Mac? If this happened even Cnet could create a user side OS (USOS).

This leads to many more, much deeper questions. Would this be unwise? Would the long term consequences be detrimental. Is it still better to have a big brother on the net? When will the time be right? How about displaced workers?

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
