3 weeks ago I received via a Fedex Express Extremely Urgent envelope with my rebate check inside.. I kid you not ! I too went through weeks of sending emails and countless phone calls which got me nowhere fast. So I filed complaints; one with the District of Columbia, Washington DC Attorney General's office http://dc.gov/index.asp, fill in the complaint form and fax it to - 202 727 6546 (they have initiated a law suit against Inphonic and you might want your name to be on it)and also with the better business bureau of Washington DC http://www.dc.bbb.org/commoncomplaint.html.
That was my path to receiving a check. The complaint form worked a miracle.
Along with my check came a cover letter saying that they received my BBB complaint and though my claims "are still being reviewed by our third party rebate processor" (what ever that means) and "as a customer courtesy and to ensure that you have a positive customer experience" they have expedited my rebate claim. As soon as I got the check I rushed to deposit it, let's hope it is good, will know in a couple of days.
So to all of you who think they are owed money back, my advice is to stop wasting time communicating with the company and start filing formal complaints... they can ignore you but they cannot ignore big consumer protection organizations with legal resources.
I only filed out of desperation and to make me feel better never imagining I would ever see a dime.
So don't give up and fill in those complaint forms.
