Much like this one -> http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/Print99473.htm it does a nasty like that.
There may be no ready cure except your BACKUP and restoring from that.
In closing, what antivirus system are you using and is it current?
I have a very small home business doing machine embroidery. I recently installed a new digitizing program called Embroidery Magic 2 on my computer, which has windows ME. During installation the program added something to windows and rebooted before actually installing EM2. This windows change is not optional, but it changes somethings that I need to change back.
All of my internet shortcuts, those on the desktop and those I move from the desktop to various folders, are now different. Where most of them used to end with .html, now they end with .url. In addition, the actual address is gone, replaced with some of the title, which means I can't get them back just by re-doing them, and can't copy and paste to reach the locations. The .url addresses don't open IE, and aren't working at all just now, as I tried to make then open IE insted of the word processer on this computer, Sun Star Office, which I don't like anyway.
I can't find anything that addresses this on my computer's help files, which is common. Any suggestions?
