What firewall should I get?

I have a Windows 98SE/IE6 with 128Ram/13GBdrive with 7.5 available, my BUS is 100. I have McAfee virus installed as well as Ad-AwareSE. Last weekend I got a trojan virus Prutec and Downloader-YH. McAfee caught them and erased them but not before the downloader had installed several programs on my system. I manually erased them all so I think I'm safe. My question is---what firewall should I use. I had installed McAfee's firewall, but found that my system won't run with it on--limited resources I guess. So I uninstalled the firewall. I'm getting nervous about browsing the internet without a firewall. What is good, cheap or free, and doesn't tie up too many resources? Thanks.
