bkmurphy,
It will allow you to access InfoLink (news, sports, weather) and perform firmware updates wirelessly. There is not DLNA or Medi@2.0 capabilities in the 5-Series.
I don't know of any other USB stick that would work. I'm not saying that there isn't one, but I haven't heard of one.

I am getting a PN58B550 delivered on Friday. In overanalyzing the purchase
I saw that it had 802.11 support via an optional adapter. I had assumed that
this would then enable this model to have DLNA and Medi@2.0 capabilities but
I cannot get an answer to that before I try to find an adapter to buy. Does anyone
know exactly what abilities this will give me exactly on this model? Also, does
any other USB wifi stick work with these as the Samsung ones are pricey and in
short supply. Thanks.
