But I'll give the other answer. Frontier is not going to help all customers in this area. It's their round about way to say you're on your own.
I have frontier communications as my ISP and recently my internet stopped working. Because of this, a technician came to my house and replaced the router/modem gateway combo that we had to a different model. It's better-looking and actually works when compared to the last one. Anyways, I accessed the router/modem's web interface (using IP address), I find plenty of options. Looking good so far. Then there is this advanced section which allows me to change connection settings, LAN settings, Routing settings, etc. But immediately after clicking on "Advanced", it brings up a message saying:
Warning: Changes in the Advanced section may result in the loss or degradation of HSI service.
I'm assuming that this just means that if I change settings unknowingly / randomly, it can mess the settings up and cause bad internet connection and whatnot... or does that mean I can't change the advanced settings at all? I'm assuming that if I know what I'm doing in the Advanced section, nothing can really go wrong unless I make it go wrong... correct? Sorry if I sound stupid, but I'm not too fluent when it comes to networking. Pretty sure this question is entirely unnecessary, but I don't want anything really going wrong so... yeah...
