I author a few custom applications and the netbook is what we use for the demo. It is cheap, shows we don't require quad core 8GB machines and gets the job done. It runs Visual Studio, Office just fine so while you find some naysayers it is quite a fine second machine. For some it will be their first machine.
As it can run all that it makes a fine disaster recovery plan. Let's say we are in the field customizing our software and the primary laptop fails. We reach into the bag and carry on with the netbook. This hasn't happened to us but I've seen it happen to others.

So this is my situation,
I would like to buy a netbook (probably EEE PC 1000H) as an alternative to ebook reader. I need an ebook reader where I can make comments, bookmarks in a pdf file. Except iRex iLiad, none offer these options. The price of iLiad is not really convincing to me, hence the netbook.
This honest reason is not convincing enough to my wife so I need to offer few more advantages (reasons) apart from portability to get home ministry's approval.
Can someone help me please, what is your unique use of netbook?
Thanks a million, in advance.
