I'm thinking of buying the Nissan 350Z stick shift
please tell me the pros and cons (the good and the bad) about it

please tell me if you have driven it
and if you own it to see how much you drive it
(for me to see how much you know it)

Good car, not that practical.

I liked the Nissan 350Z a lot. I've driven it in Track and Enthusiast trims. However, I would never choose one over a Infiniti G35...or new G37. I haven't seen the leases on the G37, but leases on the G35 were quite close to those of the 350Z.

My recomendation would be to drive both. The Infiniti has a back seat a nicer interior, and a noticable power advantage, but ultimately, they are both fantastic cars.

Mileage was pretty much the same, but Infiniti takes premium

Warranty, power, interior materials, a useable back seat, dealer service (you'll get a G35 loaner car every time you take yours in for service) and handling are all better with the Infiniti.

The 350Z has a lower price, takes regular fuel, and has a convertable option. However, that's all it has over the G.

Looks are a subjective thing, but I prefer the lines on the Infiniti, I think the Z looks a bit...fat from the rear.

Good luck with your choices, since they're both great cars. I wish I had your problem.

from a Z owner

I have an '06 350Z Touring. It's an amazing car. I originally wanted a Porsche Boxster but purchased a Z instead because it was better value. After having it for awhile, I think I'd take the Z over the Boxster regardless of price.

It does require Premium Fuel, contrary to an earlier post.

The car is blast. Gets lots of attention. Handles excellent. Feels sporty. Every bump in the road reminds you you're in a sports car. Looks better than the G35 in my opinion.

Common complaints for the Z are: cheap interior materials, poor mileage, no trunk space, poor stereo quality.

I find the interior to be well designed with quality on par with other cars at this price point. I get about 22 mpg combined city/highway with when driving on the highway about 2/3 of the time. Trunk space is good considering what you might expect from the pics, but of course it's limited in comparison to a regular car. The stereo is decent when playing CDs, it absolutely sucks when playing radio stations. The radio is my biggest gripe.
