....of a cheap, no-name brand phone from China, I would avoid it like the plague. Very limited technical support and no warranty service by a US cellular carrier.

You misunderstood my point.....

If it is not sold by your carrier, there is limited tech support and no warranty support by your carrier. If you want warranty support, you have to send it to the manufacturer directly.
