What do you get when mix a SIXAXIS, Wiimote, and a Mouse?

by bkchurch / March 2, 2007 12:00 PM PST

Quite possibly the finest gaming peripheral ever conceived. Ok i'm exagerating but this is huge for shooter fans, this thing may very well be superior to a good ol' fashion mouse and keyboard for shooters and RTS. I planned on buying all my cross-platform shooters on the 360 because of the more FPS friendly controller but if this things as awesome as it looks the PS3 may be gettin some FPS lovin.

FPS games make the best use of rumble and since the PS3 decided to go with a poor man's wii-mote technology over a rumble feature then I will not play any FPS games on PS3 that I can also get on 360.

When the hell has a mouse and keyboard ever had rumble?

Never, yet mysteriously they are still the preferred method of FPS control. I miss rumble to but I think I'll take precision control over a shaky controller.

its for newbs

a mouse and keyboard is way easier to use for FPS, I agree, but trying to make console games work for both controller and mouse+keyboard usually doesn't work because the game is designed to be used with a controller.

And real skill is with a controller, not a newb mouse.

So let me get this straight?

In reply to: its for newbs

A mouse and keyboard (the very tool for which we agree is superior for controlling a FPS) is the weapon of choice in a FPS yet somehow it is a bad idea to make a peripheral that essentially combines the buttons of a controller and the precision of a mouse and keyboard to make the genre more rewarding, fun, and generally easier to control is a bad idea? Somehow the mouse and keyboard is now for newbs? Isn't that like saying hitting a golf ball with a golf club is too easy and for newbs, a true player of golf chooses instead the clunky and cumbersome baseball bat? Your logic makes no sense. The idea of this thing is to combine the precision of a mouse and keyboard with the already established controller button layout of the game and the PS3's as yet untapped potential of the SIXAXIS which in the end will result in a more enjoyable game experience, isn't that the whole point of why we play games? To enjoy the experience as best we can instead of fighting with annoying controls only to justify this by claming it makes us 1337?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
