Im looking to purchase either a desktop or a notebook to put in my bedroom. I usally just do my ipod, internet, burn dvds, dl music, and play some games on a computer. I was wondering what do I need so I can use my tv as my computer screen?

Can you please recommend everything I should purchase? Im looking to spend no more then 1200.00. Hope this is possible thanks.

That after hooking up their desktop/laptop the TV that DVDs don't play or the video quality is astonishing bad.

Ask why you want to do this. Your average PC display is some 1024 x 768 pixels and the common TV is closer to 400x500.

Well because I dont have room in my bedroom for a computer desk or a monitor. So I guess I would use my 57in HDTV as the monitor?

Most likely DVI.

S-video is of such low quality that you would assure a bitter outcome.

I can't help you spend your money. Products come and go quickly and the area of HDTV displays is moving fast.

Now that you see it's HDMI only, you'll have to get that on your new PC.

How do I do that? Also who makes products like that?

It's on your PC video card.

ATI and Nvidia have such with HDMI connections.

I wonder how much you are researching this. The lack of DVI was on your TV link page. google.com finds ATI or Nvidea cards with HDMI.

Given such a tight spec, your choices for the video card will be a very short list.
