What do I need to set up a cable Network?

Feb 19, 2005 9:16PM PST

I keep looking at routers to set up a network but they all require my master computer to be switched on all the time, what do i need so i can use it without the master on?

Not really. . .

The connection goes like this.

Cable coax into the modem. Modem output into router WAN input. Up to 4 PCs NICs plugged into router LAN ports. And these can be wired or wireless, laptop or desktop, any combination up to four. This is with a four port router of course.

Wired like this there is no "master".

Good luck,

If your router is a wireless one, you can have up to 32 computers connected wirelessly plus the four plugged into the router itself.
