I have three external FW drives.
However I had to re-install the OS on the iMac ( late 2009 edition ) because it refused to start up no matter what i tried to save the day. I disconnected all three FW drives to do the "fresh" install.
Then I reconnected only two FW drives.
The first in line is connected to the iMac's 800 port using a special 400 to 800 port cable. ( I hate the new single FW port system Apple has installed on these iMac's . )
The second FW drive is daisy chained to the first FW drive.
For some reason the first FW drive is locked and when i double click the HD icon the dialogue says: The folder "MUSIC PLUS HD" can't be opened because you don't have permission to see it's contents."
I tried the Command+i for information however there is no way i could change the settings for sharing & permissions: they are shown as custom access
H do i unlock the FW drive ?
