What digital camera to buy?

Greetings,
I am planning to buy a new digital camera this summer. (My last camera is ancient and used film. SO you would be right in guessing that I am new in this) My budget is anywhere up to the 350s about. I would like something pocketable but doesnt need to be highly compact. I despise small LCDs and I want something with a good LCD with a optical view finder. I have done some research and found the best brands to be CANON and NIKON. Also would like decent features. Any suggestions?

Digital Camera

The Canon A610 and A620 have been getting raves by owners of the camera.

They have a 2.0 inch LCD that tilts and swivels.

If you want a larger LCD (2.5 inch), look at the A700.
That LCD does not tilt and swivel.
This camera has a 6X optical zoom.
