what devices r these?

Compaq Presario R3000

in the device manager, i see "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE" & "SM BUS CONTROLLER" need drivers, can sum1 tell me what devices r those so i can go to the site & download them, thanx

the network, modem n audio drivers r already installed.............

These are motherboard devices.

Usually people who install the OS from scratch will see these. To fix, find a motherboard driver package. On some laptops, you never find this.

Supplied me such a model. In the package is the restore CD which if I use will not result in such a thing showing. Use those.

Slipped in the XP Pro SP2 CD and upgraded to XP Pro which we need to connect at the office.
