But the more I use them the more I think I'll get an Asus T100.

Can't wait for the T1000 model.

The Asus T100
May 22, 2014 7:16PM PDT

I just went to see what the T100 was all about and I like it! But it has only 2GB RAM (slow) and 64GB HD, that's not a lot is it?

ASUS Transformer Book T100 Intel Z3740 Quad Core 2GB DDR3 RAM 64GB SSD

What do you use the T100 for?

Odd
May 22, 2014 11:58PM PDT

Remember we have many Androids at the office and I found it limiting or a PITA to get my presentation over to it to hit the road. So I want the real deal now.

I don't think 2GB and 64GB is limiting at all for the purpose. That is, sometimes folk confuse a device with another. Think of each device has it's own use. For the office I have a cheap cheap Asus X200CA that is light, small and if destroyed or lost during travel I won't cry.

Netbook
May 22, 2014 7:12PM PDT

A few years ago I bought a netbook, just for travel, which I do about 2X's a year. This weekend I traveled and took the NB (Asus/ Win 7 starter/ 2 GB ram) and it was so slow starting up, slow on the internet, and it was almost excruciating trying to read internet news and email. The tabbing and scrolling was awkward. Some sites crashed when I went to view them. Unfortunately, I can't increase the ram! (not like a desktop)

I love the NB and wish the computer industry had NOT discontinued them, but improved their performance.

My NB is lightweight, I can put it in my purse. I can walk around with it. It's very reliable. But I'm thinking about getting a Chromebook.

I just want something faster, lightweight, and just for use when I travel, which is very little. But I"m confused about all the TABLET operating systems. Chromebook seems to be a Netbook, but only it doesn't have a hard drive and is strictly internet based. What do you guys think about Chromebook?

BTW, it seems to me that the industry keep bringing out different tablets and oper. systems every year (to get out money) and it's hard to keep up with what's reliable and relevant. With desktop computers you only had to be concerned about which processor to buy, or between 3 operating systems. With Tablets, there are so many different ones, it's hard to know which one will be around 3 yrs from now.

We now know why people don't want to let go of XP, because it was reliable, and it was compatible with all softwares and devices.

Would anyone know?

The T100 comes with 2GB ram. Do you know if it can expand to 4 GB Ram? I have 2 GB ram with my netbook and it's just not enough, esp. when you try to scroll and tab and navigate around the internet & desktop.

The specs for the T100
May 22, 2014 8:40PM PDT

From reading the specs and talking to ASUS, the T100 has 2 GB ram, which is the same as my netbook. The only advantage is it has Win 8.1, touchscreen, and is more portable. Other than that, I can't see where it's any faster than a netbook.
