"Regmon" works on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, Windows 95/98/Me and Windows 64-bit for Itanium and x64 and is a Registry monitoring utility that will show you which applications are accessing your Registry, which keys they are accessing, and the Registry data that they are reading and writing - all in real-time. This advanced utility takes you one step beyond what static Registry tools can do, to let you see and understand exactly how programs use the Registry. With static tools you might be able to see what Registry values and keys changed.
When you activate this tool you'll see where and why an action is taking place.
I have a 3 year old computer running XP Home edition and all of a sudden something seems to be trying to access the A: drive which I never use and the E: drive which is an external hard drive. I turned off my McAfee virus scan thinking it was scanning the computer but that wasn't it. The A: drive buzzing all the time is annoying. What could be causing this? Any suggestions?
