Question

What can I do to fix my internet ?

Aug 7, 2016 5:23AM PDT

My internet has been very weird for a while now when I play games like Overwatch, Cs:go and other online games I can play fine a like 3-4minutes then sometimes everything in game freeze not fps lag just everything stops and I've got on ping counters and it shows a dramatic jump from 15 ping to 500 ping for about 1-2 seconds soo I was wondering how could I find out what is going wrong because i really don't know what to do I have just had to live with it atm and it's becoming so annoying in competitive matches and such.

Any help/ suggestions will be much appreciated

Fix Internet.

First of all, don't run any p2p in the background when playing, and be sure you're the only user of the connection. Then connect via an Ethernet-cable in stead of wireless (just in case you have a wireless connection now, you didn't tell) and reset the router and modem (turn off, wait a minute, turn on).
All OK now? Then it's fixed.

If not fixed, try the same on another PC/laptop.
- If it's fine then, it's something with you PC. If you can't find the cause, go back to factory conditions and try again.
If it's still an issue, it's an issue of the router, modem or beyond (the ISP).

I'd stop recording gameplay too.

Make your setup simpler. No game recording, no P2P, and think back to when it worked.

What is different.
