Question

What can be done about all video showing up as greenscreen?

Mar 26, 2015 1:35AM PDT

I have an HP Envy laptop running Windows 8.1, I.E.11, and an AMD10 processor. I get a green screen when I try to playback any video. Its not specific to any one website, and happens from wherever I happen to be. I do hear audio. Does anyone have a resolution to this? Thanks

Too vague

But if a PC does this out of the box it's back to the seller/maker to fix it. New PCs should not do that.

Is there more backstory?

Clarification regarding greenscreen
Mar 26, 2015 4:26AM PDT

It is not out of the box nor did I have this problem out of the box. Backstory: When I got to my pc this morning, I tried viewing a news footage video from MSN. After I clicked the start arrow, the video area is green, I cannot see the video, however I can hear the audio. The same thing happened when trying to view a video from Cnet and one from Youtube. I did not have this problem with it yesterday. Thanks

- Also on an external monitor?
- Only in IE or in any browser (try Firefox or Chrome).
- Only Flash or also Silverlight or Adobe Air?
- In Flash, both with hardware accelleration enabled and disabled?
- Also outside of a browser (for examle, try VLC to play a DVD for example, or any video format you happen to download)?
