What Camera should I buy???

Mar 5, 2006 2:11PM PST

I am looking to buy the best/most inexpensive 10x or more optical zoom digital camera to take pictures of my daughter playing both softball (outdoors) and basketball (indoors). I have read several reviews but all of them give different suggestions. Also, is it suggested I only look at cameras with image stabilization? I don't think the megapixel is too much of a factor since I will only being downloading them to the internet or making regular size prints of them... So, I think even a 3 - 4 megapixel would even be okay??? Any help would be appreciated.

Megapixels camera doesn't matter

But, the minimum digital camera today seems to start at least 5-6 MP, equipped with newer CCD or CMOS sensor at the lower noise level. IS system is relevant when the light is at minimum. Actually, there're a lot of camera available these days. What about your budget ?

I am trying not to spend more than $300 (hoping I get a really good deal on one) However, I guess I should have stated that I am really looking at the Point and shoot type of cameras such as the Kodak Easyshare Z740, Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 Digital Camera, Fuji FinePix S5200 Digital Camera and the Panasonic Lumix
