What Cables Do I Need To Connect My Pc To My Television

First off I moved my computer from a VGA monitor to my Phillips Television but when I plugged my HDMI into the computer and television no display came up. So I was thinking I needed a VGA to HDMI converter. They are about €5 on eBay which is fine but I'm not 100% sure if this will work. Will DVI to HDMI be better? Or will a converter even work? P.s my television has only a s-video and a HDMI on it. So any help or suggestions will be very appreciated.

I've never seen a 5 dollar VGA to HDMI work.

That's an easy no. But they sell well because folk want such a thing and there are sellers of hope.

Thats unlucky

I was browsing around some other forums and people are suggesting them? I can see why they might be a scam because I see some for €25 to €5. But in my local shop they sell it for €25. Also in my school they use VGA to HDMI for our school laptops, that's where I got the idea that this may work.

At school.

Ask the IT person what model they use.

I guess I could repeat why they sell them over and over but why? It's on the web for all to read the reviews and feedback. Sometimes you get a client or member that insists such works. If they did, why are they asking to get it to work?

Will ask tomorrow and see. I'll get back to you if I find a solution. Thanks
