A look at google.com and those files should be your first move. DO NOT DELETE THESE FILES! That is unless you really want to mess up a profile.
Now why do they show in Explorer? Simple. Explorer may be set to show the hidden files. YOUR CHOICE on such settings.
I was doing a general cleaning of my files today, and came across a few things that weren't there before.
First, ntuser.dat.gbck, ntuser.dat, david_notes.dat, .recently-used.xbel
Those aren't under any folder or subfolder of my user name (like documents, videos. etc.). None of these popped up until I started using Glary Utilities. They're just sort of scattered around. Can these be deleted, and if not, can they be moved to a different folder safely?
The other thing I noticed was a folder called .thumbnails. Is this necessary? There's nothing in it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
PS- I'm using Vista Home Basic
