What are all of these little electronic gadgets????

iPOD's???, MP3's???, PDA's???, Nano???, etc.....??? I am new to all of this handheld, portable electronics stuff. Can someone give me a short definition of what each of these things are - what's available - what they do - what they are used for, etc. Or tell me where I can get some quick info / comparisons of each?
(I'm shopping for my 25 yr.old son)

You sound like most of the older people in my family. They're way behind the world. Ok so basically go here:

MP3's:
