What am I doing wrong?

I tried to burn a lesson that I recorded on my mp3 player. Using Nero I edited in the wave editor and then burned it to CD. When complete I received an error message that the burn was not completed. I played the cd to see what occurred and was able to listen to the cd for several minutes then it went dead. What could I be doing wrong? Any advice?
