Western Digital passport porblems!

Hi,

My western digital passport has a problem (obviously), the problem being it don't appear as a external hard drive or appear at all for that matter! I have tried to see if it shows up on my PC and Mac no luck, the blue ring that shows it got power lights up, however it got very bright then dark again but it still on. I did try different USB ports.

I tried fixing it with the software from Western Digital them self but because the computer's don't even know that its connected it can't fix it.

It worked before, but no more.....

Any ideas will be appreciated!

Not the same ...but a problem

The problem with my WD 80 is that I cannot not store anything on it. I get a "data error(cyclic redundancy check)." I am not that computer literate and will Google most things I have no knowledge of but I cannot find a solution to this problem.

It worked perfectly for 2 weeks.The Blue power indicator shows power but the only item stored is a file called Auto Run which I did not download.
