Western Digital HDD compatibility

Oct 28, 2006 8:28AM PDT

I am trying to add another hard drive and I was wondering if the WD2500JS is compatible with a PC CHIPS P23G motherboard. The drive is a SATA 3gbs and the motherboard is 1.5 and if would be compatible with it.

# You can purchase and install a third party PCI or PCI-Express Second Generation Serial ATA controller card for your Serial ATA hard drive(s).

# or lock the drive at 150 MB/s data transfer rate, by installing a jumper shunt on pins OPT1, shown in the picture below. (go to WD website)

# If the OPT1 jumper setting does not resolve the issue, please contact Western Digital Support for further troubleshooting.
