Resolved Question

Western Digital external usb 3.0 hard drive

Mar 23, 2016 8:58AM PDT
I have a Dell XPS Studio 435T/900o with 2 external hard drives. the older one uses USB 2,0, but the newer one needs USB 3.0. I'm trying to find out not only where to buy one, but if it will work on my desktop. I've been looking for this info on Dell, but no success.

I think you'll find that if you plug your newer unit into a usb 2 port it will work but at usb 2 speed.

If you want usb 3 speed you will have to shop for a usb 3 adapter card.
