WEP or WPA?

I have a Linksys WRT54G broadband router with 128 bit WEP encryption enabled. I know that WPA encryption is stronger than WEP, but which is more ideal for a home network? Does anyone know if it is worth switching to WPA? Do I sacrifice speed for switching to a stronger encryption? Hope someone can shed some light on my decision. thanks.
