There's a long list of why this happens. Try the usual and boot safe mode to remove all optical drives in device manager, reboot and see if it comes back.
If you go to manager and make all files shown you see it BUT it tells me it is not connected,which is funny because it has to see it some way to tell what it does.
At a bit of a lose here have spent hours online,even more hours reading books..Microsoft doesn't have a thing on it ( imagine that)
so i am hoping some else has bumped into this as it appears to be a fairly issue,what have to see is real fix.
