RE:#1 2008

and yet there were bailouts?

HOW does THAT work?

The 2008 rating was before the freefall started

If you want to see what 2008 did to our ranking, look at the 2009 number.

And don't thank "BO." Thank the Republicans in Congress who held the debt talks hostage so long that it resulted in our credit rating being dropped because the banks got nervous that we were going to default.

That's bull

we were downgraded because BO upped the ante and because he refused to bring his spending under control under $1T every year which was ADDING to that debt. He was even willing to not pay our military...talk about 'hostage taking'. There was enough money coming in every day in revenue that we could have paid the debt and not default, pay the military, and the other bills...it just would have shut down the government itself temporarily which had been done before without having our rating get lowered.

It doesn't matter

Even at the bottom you will still have Liberals telling you how a new Golden Age is dawning because of some new screwup their guy is doing.

AND there will be people

telling anyone that will listen the rivers are going to catch fire.

If you lived in Cleveland, Ohio in early 1970

you would have seen the Cuyahoga River actually go up in flames.........

I didn't have to live in Cleveland, Ohio in 1970
