Well, that's a first....

Nov 27, 2003 7:25PM PST

As the regulars know, I live in the immediate Washington D.C. area and get all the local news. Some may also remember that I worked in network TV news.
Bearing that in mind, I just heard something on the local Washington TV news that I'd never seen before. In the story, President Bush had arrived back in the U.S. from his Iraq Thanksgiving "surprise". The voiceover in a shot of him walking down the stairs to exit Air Force One said, "A man who appeared to be Geroge Bush...".
Well, that may be a first, are the Democratic "spin merchants" going to try to claim that it wasn't him, but a double?

I am sure he troops would know the real thing, especially when he talks to them.
I don't believe that Del said that he was a double, just that people of opposite political status might question his authenticity.

Hi J,

Wouldn't it be nice, in the spirit of the holiday season, if we could all take this visit at face value and not search for political implications? Oh I know, I know.....Anyway, I'm happy that President Bush was able to help lift the morale of our service people and I'll continue to pray for their safe return to the people who love and miss them.
