General discussion

Well, Kees, I learned what a stint is.

Sad
Tough way to do it. Looks like mechanical failure, but it was disturbing to read from the BBC that so many "accidents" over there involve people in a hurry; bypassing the gates.

This is a total mystery.

I didn't know what a stint is (you do now!), but it seems to be:
- a person's fixed or allotted period of work.
"his varied career included a stint as a magician"
synonyms: spell, stretch, turn, session, term, shift, tour of duty
- imitation of supply or effort.
"a collector with an eye for quality and the means to indulge it without stint"

But I fail to see the relation with the BBC and accidents and mechanical failures, the context of this thread and why you mention me.

Let me get inside Doug's head/try and connect the dots.

You get a notable mention because a "stint" had a accident because of a mechanical failure AND it all happened in the Netherlands...(your place of residence?)

Thank you.

I didn't know the maker https://stintum.com/en called it a Stint. Never heard of the term; it seems to be related to Formula 1 auto racing. Probably invented by some creative marketing agency for this use.

It could be a technical error, it could be a driver error. No results of any investigation known yet.

So it makes sense now.

BBC seemed to think it was better known.
