An 80 Gig PS-3. Good grief! Much impressed. Gigabit Ethernet and wireless G. Found my home wireless network and surf. Got latest updates wirelessly. Bells and whistles! Rented Indiana Jones/Temple of Doom in Blu-ray. Good grief! Wireless controller! Also got the Bluetooth remote. Wow.

Wow.

Will have to get a game now.

Disappointed in the documentation though.

Anyway, awesome device.

I've heard that it is one of the best BR players for the money.

What I really like is the speed in which it starts playing. I'd seen some that take almost a minute to play. This one starts in about ten seconds.

Now, if I can figure out what to do with that 80 Gig HD I'll be happier. I think I'll start a new thread and get some suggestions.

PS3

I bought a PS3 a couple weeks ago too. I'm more of a Xbox 360 kind of gamer since the 360 has better online multiplayer options for games, but the Blu-ray player and the features of the PS3 really are impressive.

It takes almost no time to load BR discs and I like the bluetooth remote. It has really sweet media server features as well (although you cannot stream music while you are playing a game...the 360 can do that though).

I need to check out its web browsing features too. I was thinking of going to hulu.com with it to see how the streaming HD content is on it.

Cory: make sure you turn "Dynamic Range Control" in the BD/DVD settings to "off". It is default set to "on" and it really limits the sound quality of some Blu-ray and DVD movies.

Excellent!

I bought the 80G PS3 back in January and I love it too...after I bought the Bluetooth remote which makes using it functional as a BD player. As far as the 80G space, my kids download games on it, but primarily if you play games, the PS3 loads a lot of functional data from the game onto the hard-drive, which makes playing the game from disc possible with 1080p resolution. By the way, games look stunning. Did your system come with a game? Back when I bought mine, it came with a free game and a coupon to get 5 free BD discs.

I agree about the documentation: It stinks. When you first fire-up the PS3 it should take you to a setup option where the PS3 will match it's output to your TVs native resolution, which I found very helpful to match my 1080p TV. You can get into this menu again by going into the BD Settings
