Install it and set your PC to login automatically. You'll need to enter your username and password. From then on, the PC will automatically go to your desktop and bypass the welcome or login box. You can still log off and back on as another user (if one is created) or the administrator.
I know this may sound trivial but it has bugged me for a long time. On my wife's laptop, (XP Home), when she boots up, the password text box is open and ready for her to type in her password and press the [Enter] key. It's an HP OEM version of XP home.
On the machine I built, I BOUGHT and installed XP Pro and set it up as myself to be the only user, completely disabling the guest account. (I imagine you might still be able to log on as a guest but you would have very limited access to everything on the machine.) But what really bugs me it that I have to use my mouse and move the cursor over the icon, (the only icon), and click on it before the password text box will appear for me to type in my password. I hate that I have to use botht he mouse and the keyboard.
Is there any way to make Windows just open the password textbox for the default user?
