Weird problem

Apr 28, 2007 4:45AM PDT

For the past few months I've had an annoying problem with my internet connection. Things will be fine for a while with a speed of 54.0 mbps and then suddenly drop down to 1 mbps. The connection also gets lost for long periods of time.
I've tried everything I could find and have read all the troubleshooting guides on the web. I'm not too good with these kind of problems, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Is that wifi?

If so, even a next door neighbors 2.4GHz phone ringing could cause this.

Details sketchy...

Well, the problem started before I got wireless...So that can't be the problem.

Given the clues so far I can't see it.

I'll repeat the usuals that you read in the forum just in case you haven't heard them before.

- Firmware.
- Drivers.
- P2P use.
- Spwyare, malware, etc.

I don't duplicate their web content plus I can't offer any links to them since you are not engaged in this discussion. Can you see those words in red? If not, we'd like to know since there is a theory that some browsers don't show them.
