Try OPEN OFFICE and save in the compatible formats for now.
I've been using MS Office 97 for years with not many problems. Windows XP had some issues. Just got an HP machine running Vista. I worked on a newly created Excel file and added some more data after saving it. I saved it again a few minutes later and it said that the file was created in an earlier version of Excel. This is bizarre. What's even worse, I go to print and the application just disappears! What's with this?
