Try going to Start,Settings, Control Panel, Keyboard, Language, Properties and select the keyboard of your choice.

Be sure you have the language set to your country or English too.

Keyboard Problems
Jul 14, 2010 7:17AM PDT

The driver for your keyboard might be missing or need to be updated. If your keyboard came with a software disc, insert it into your computer to reinstall the driver. Otherwise, follow these steps to update your driver.

1. Open Keyboard by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Keyboard.

2. Click the Hardware tab, find the keyboard you're using, and then double-click it.

3. Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.

4. If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.

OR

Your keyboard layout might be set for a different language than the one you want to use. See Change your keyboard layout for instructions on changing the keyboard layout to match the language that you want to use.

If this doesn't fix the problem, try plugging your keyboard into another computer. If it still doesn't work, it might be broken and need to be replaced.

I hope this helps!

Kboard problem with W7
Nov 18, 2010 4:22PM PST

I am experiencing a kboard mix up from AZERTY to QWERTY while running DOS apps on a new
W7 system. I have read on a forum that W7 reads a CONFIG.NT and AUTOEXEC.NT while loading the DOS 16bit EXE file in memory. I have to edit both to add the proper COUNTRY
and KEYBOARD codes. This I was used to do before 1995 on DOS systems. I've made some fixes to both NT files on the W7 system with no success so far .. since I don't know the exact syntax for emulating a FRENCH Kboard. Can you help ?

Sorry if this is hard.

But DOS did that years ago and I find many that are (re)learning the old ways.

Let me try this on google. DOS KEYB FRENCH CODE

http://www.easydos.com/keyb.html seems to note the FR code is for French.
