Networking in 95 is not something I'll wish on anyone. If you just need to siphon off files, see how KNOPPIX did so in this article -> http://tips.oncomputers.info/archives2004/0401/2004-Jan-11.htm
I am working on a PC that is very old and it still runs windows 95. I am trying to back up files for my client but I can't get the network card drivers to install. I get the following error message
Your system allows only 4 instance(s) of IPX/SPX compatible Protocol.
Any clue what the heck this means? I checked "Network Neighborhood" and saw that there were a few adapters there for the modem, so I got rid of them since I am not going to be using the modem. I still can't get this driver through. The network card is a "Linksys LNE100TX(v5) Fast Ethernet Adapter" I checked device manager and it seems to be working properly, but I still cannot get on the internet or connect to my server so I can back up their info.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
