Question

Weird Computer Noise? Can't identify

Aug 13, 2016 1:36PM PDT

Hey everyone,

Was wondering if someone knows what this noise is coming from my computer. I took a video clip of it. Seems to happen mainly when I'm running games/put the computer under stress.

But sounds like a heat issue. Tell us about your cleaning regime. That is, canned air and thermal paste.

It's... Windows 10 64 bit, AMD Phenom II x6 1100T Processor 3.60, 16 GB of RAM, AMD Radeon 300 series.

I clean with air regularly but theres a lot of caked on dust on my fans. I haven't replaced my thermal paste in a long time. Years probably. Does that go bad?

Cheapest fix so far.

Is get inside the machine with canned air and a soft brush and get those fans/fins cleaned on every thing. Thermal paste will crack over time and lead to these symptoms. Was this an upgrade to Win 10? If so. from what. Give the age of the machine.
