Why do I get an echo when using my webcam and is there a way of reducing or eliminating the problem apart from using a headset?
Thanks

Robert amkes a good point, it something that's always present when speaker(output) and microphone(input) could be too close(feedback) isn't electronics wonderful when you conisder the source and destination are so far apart.
Allow, to make another suggestion, check your audio setting, some provide for "effects" like in a concert hall, hallway, maybe bathroom. You may have tweaked it before and forgot to check. I had a similar experience and found my setting(on AC97 audio manager) were set at "canyon"(echo) or something like that, OK at my end but the reciever says, different. I sounded like the ballpark echo sound, repeat, repeat, repeat....(last word).
