Webcam Communication

I have a question about webcam communiation. I and my girlfriend both have good web cams integrated into our laptops. She has a Macintosh and I own a Vaio. This is where the problem kicks in. She, of course, uses the program iChat to communicate with webcam to me which means I must use AOL Instant Messenger, which is absolutely terrible. My video is very small and looks very bad but when I look at vide on her computer it looks 100x better you can stretch the camera and have an unlimited amount of options to play with where as I have nothing. Is there any program out there that is compatable with both a Mac and PC communication that is a good program to use? I have yet to find anything suitable. I would really appreciate some advice on this subject, thanks in advance!
