webcam boradcasting software suggestion needed

by thrillseekre / February 3, 2004 3:43 AM PST

hi,
i'm looking to setup a cam in my physical place of business, to broadcast 24/7 online

my needs are for that software that runs it to not hinder the best possible picture/framerate/speed picture quality and frame
and preferably to be a steady stream, not a picture that updates every minute or so
i'd prefer for the process of setting this up to be a smooth as possible.
i would want to use my cable connection to serve at least the stream from. nothing proxy

if the above is irrelevant to current technology, then whatever the best furrent software is for the above application.

thanks so much
aaron

Try a D-Link DCS-2000 Webcam.

No PC required except to view it.

That's a pretty nice camera. Have you looked at the AXIS line as well.

There has been a new line of TCP/IP cameras from AXIX, D-Link and Link-sys that do very nice video over TCP/IP, but without you specifying much more than what you've written, I'll state that the stuff is terrific. And no software is needed to view it.

AXIS offers an API which you can build your software on with many examples.

Much cheaper than a PC based solution.

Yu can find a great IP Cam at ICPCParts.com

I bought an Intellinet ip camera from this store it came with a lifetime warranty which no one else has, believe me if it ever fails I will send it back, they said they would replace it at no charge.
this is the cam http://www.icpcparts.com/catalog2/network-camera-p-30.html IT works perfectly. what i like about it is that if the power goes out ... and it does here frequently in Florida .. it will reset and power itself back on. sweeeeet !
