Resolved Question

web site stolen

Feb 17, 2012 9:52AM PST

A company called "domain sponsor" has taken over my website address. If one types the name of the domain for which I paid in the browser, the browser goes to their site. The registrar, Melbourne IT, says that it cannot do anything while the host Microsoft says that the registrar has to intervene.

Did they hack your site?

Did you look at your hosting files to see if maybe they attacked your files - first guess would be your .htaccess file, and are forwarding to themselves?

Or did they hack your domain account and have change the DNS?

When you look at the info in your domain account - are you still the owner?

I created the problem myself

Thank you for you answer Crailsheim7180. I am still the owner of the account thank God.
The problem is solved. I changed hosts and the new host was not pointing to my web name. The web site vampire "Domain Sponsor" uncovered this situation and was putting his garbage under my web name.
