Web Pages not loading due to "teathering"

by AlmostViolet1 / August 31, 2010 11:32 AM PDT

Hi,
So I did a idiotic thing which is try to "teather" my Blackberry to my laptop without really knowing what I was doing. I have a Gateway Mini-Notebook N270 (these do not have disc drives) and I followed online instruction via the Blackberry website where I was going into my Internet Connections and fumbling around. I went through so many steps at this point I'm lost at what happened because now, I can't use my Wifi. I go to public places (coffee shops and such) to access internet, I see that I have a connection but when I try using Google Chrome or Explorer they say "Webpage Not Avl". My internet explorer diagnostic says the Server name or address could not be resolved. Is this something with my IP? I would really appreciate some help!

Thanks!

Go to command prompt (Run CMD) and type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL and press enter. Please copy the results and paste them here.

Hey, I tried to get the command prompt you ask for but it just flashes the screen with the IP info then it disappears before I can even read it.

In reply to: Teathering Mistake

the letters CMD at the run prompt then click OK

That will open the command prompt and once open type IPCONFIG /all and press the enter/return key. Now you will get the full return of the command printed to screen and it will remain there while you read or copy it.

OK got it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
