Question

Web pages display in blues, greys, and creams! :-(

Jul 12, 2014 5:17AM PDT

I'm a fairly new user of Win7 - Home Premium, SP1, 2009. Whether I use IE, Opera, Mozilla, or Chrome, web pages display with grey or blue text, light grey or blue backgrounds, and the page background is a light cream colour. The result is a page with very low contrast and eye strain sets in quickly. I'm able to change the colour schemes of the web browsers, and individual programs easily enough, but nothing affects the web pages themselves. I would think it's a Win7 problem as it's the same in all 4 browsers. I've tried every adjustment I can find on this computer and I'm embarrassed to say that NOTHING has had even the slightest affect on the display of web pages. Am I missing something really obvious and simple? Thanks in advance for your help.

The line "Look at these..." is in a very light grey. Most websites look like the "no contrast" sample in the center of page 2. The background is composed of varying, very dark shades of grey. The text on page 3 is either in a very light cream (but def not white) and "Content = illustration" is in a very dark grey. The "glad you asked" page background is a light creamy grey...Again, very light, but def not white.

Does this help?

The computer is a Lenovo G780 with Win7 Home Premium, SP1, 2009. The screen is 17" with a resolution of 1600x900 and is highly reflective.

Does this help?

At this point it's clear the machine has ALWAYS done this without fail. Time to call its maker and arrange for fix or return.

It'd be helpful if you could take a photo using your phone or a camera or something and then upload that to some site like say Google Drive. Also, if you could just hit print screen to take a quick screenshot and upload that it would also help in narrowing down possible causes.

but don't see any way to post them here in the forum. I've hunted around the forums and can't find any mention of how to do this. I'll post as soon as I've figured out how.
