Web Page in Outlook Express 6

Jun 8, 2004 3:02PM PDT

For some reason, there is a web page stuck in my outlook express, but only under one identity. It's in a split panel-like thing taking up the bottom half. Anybody know how to get rid of it?? Help would be much appreciated. I have Windows XP (SP2 build 2144). Thanks! BTW, if you know anything about BIOSes, plz check out my post under Hardware-->Desktop (title of post is: BIOS software problem) because it is very urgent.

Since I and others can EXPLOIT the PREVIEW PANE of all versions of Outlook, turn that OFF and exit Outlook, then open it again and delete the offending email.

This may be a lesson about the PREVIEW PANE, but if it's enabled, you get to see such things.

I didn't get this in a message though; and its not in the preview pane; maybe its better if I provide a screenshot:

Note the webpage stuck in there below the preview pane and the address book. I remember visiting that webpage but I never booked it in the favorites. Thanks for your help!

Good idea, but you need to put it on the main page since

Geocities won't let us look at such.

You have PREVIEW enabled.

As long as this view is enabled, I expect any version of outlook to be HIJACKED and EXPLOIT over and over. You'll have to eject the PARASITES with the tools Adaware, Spybot, Cwshredder, Housecall and keep LSPFIX handy in case the parasite muddled up the Layered Service Provider. A final tool if the above simple tools don't get it is Hijackthis, which you research about creating a Log File, posting the log file as it tells you for review.

Repeat: Preview in any version of Outlook is much like traveling crosscountry with your head out the window. Very dangerous.

One Last Question (I Promise this is the Last)

How do you disable preview in outlook express 6?
Thanks

Never a last question...

If I recall, View, Layout, uncheck the Preview Pane.

And you may still have to eject pests... What I'm seeing is either a TOOLBAR or Browser Helper Object. I can't tell which just by seeing the screen, but it's still an IE/OE bolt-on.
