Web Page design jobs

This really isn?t a tech question, but I feel that I can trust this community. After learning how to develop great working web pages and sites I went on-line looking for "jobs" where I could make money from home (the honest non-manipulating way) designing web pages. Basically, all I got was a host of rip-offs, unwanted spam by the hoards, and viruses to remove. Does anyone know of any legitimate on-line links leading to actual web design jobs? Being an insulin dependant diabetic makes it a bit difficult to re-join the rat race of 9-5'ers running up and down the highways, like I did in my pre-diabetic days. Working (designing web pages from home is pretty much my only option for a healthy happy life, doing what I love to do.
