Web Hosting Reviews

Many people have suggested web hosting sites on this forum and I truly believe there are many good hosts on the web; however, there are a few that stick out to me. If you check out the popular web hosting review sites such as http://www.alreadyhosting.com , hostdir.com, or webhostinggeeks.com ... You will start to see a patern with the web hosts that are listed.

The three web hosting review sites seem to agree that hostmonster, startlogic, inmotion hosting, and ixwebhosting are some of the greatest web hosts. I have personally used HostMonster and have not had any problems with this host.. What do you guys think about these four hosts that are commonly refered to as the top 4 hosts on the web?

Thanks

Thanks guys for all of your feedback. It really doesnt matter if you choose http://www.alreadyhosting.com or any other mentioned web hosting review site; the important thing is that you do your research BEFORE choosing a host.

DO NOT TRUST any review but CNET!

BlueHost is listed as "the best" webhoster on these scam review sites like webhostinggeeks.com. I believe these sites are scams. I teid Bluehost and had nothing but pain and I left them. If you google for common phrases like 'Best Web Hosting', and then trace the referenced domains with whois, you'll find that many of them trace back to BlueHost or the many (aka's) they now do business as (HostMoster, etc). I have found these families of companies to be completely devoid of ethics. Do a google for 'best web hosting' and you'll find "TOP-10-WEB-HOSTING.COM". This site purports to provide unbiased reviews from 'Experienced webmasters'. They rate BlueHost and HostMonster among the best with glowing reviews. But a simple whois lookup shows that they _ARE_ Bluehost. What kind a company would use a tactic like this? A disreputable unethical one (in my opinion). I made a big mistake using these guys and I hope this post will help you avoid being suckered into a nightmare. I've found the reviews here on CNET to be reliable. I'm now using Lunarpages which seems to be good.

BlueHost is a scam

See the earlier thread. I know from personal experience that BlueHost is just a terrible company to do business with. Unfortunately, as they destroy their name, they have been changing their company names. Especially if you run a business, runaway from any web hoster that whois lookups back to bluehost.
