That totally depends on the character of the corporation and the intended audience.

I'd start with having a look at sites that are comparable with the one you're going to make to get an idea of what works and what doesn't work in website design.

You want to discuss design and structure of a (corporate) website, and within 3 hours you come back with the name of a company that build sites.

So I assume you'll have that discussion with them. Once you know what you want, can you tell us what you learned from those discussions about web site design and structure and how it applies to site they are going to build for you. That might be helpful for other members.

I unlocked this thread, to allow you to answer with those interesting results in a few weeks.

Site structure is a product of careful thinking, intentional design, and accurate organization.
The best time to develop a strong site stricture is before you create your site.
1. Plan out a hierarchy before you develop your website.
2. Create a URL structure that follows your navigation hierarchy
3. Create your site navigation in HTML or CSS.
4. Use a shallow depth navigation structure.
5. Create a header that lists your main navigation pages.
6. Develop a comprehensive internal linking structure.
